She should probably never be turned out on lush growing spring grass.
In many parts of the country foundered horses can be pastured on dry weather
grass after it is done it's lush sprimg growing. We have a 33 yr old chronic
laminitis (founder) mare that we keep up from April until July, and then
again in the fall when we get more growth. We are in SW MO. Another thing
to be careful of is the fact that many chronic laminitis mares will do
it again whenever they foal. I will not breed a foundered mare!
