QUESTION:
Can you tell me what angles to trim the foxtrotter. I have a
new 5 yr. old. I've been told to do him 52 in back and 50 in front.
Others have said even all around, and others....shoes on the front.
He has very good feet and is sound and I don't want to
ruin him. I bought him to do 50 mile endurance and multi day
endurance rides...Thanks. Barbara
ANSWER:
In hoof angles there is no "one size fits all"! All horses should
be trimmed to their natural angles. The front hoof should be the same angle
as the pastern/shoulder, the rear hoof the same angle as the pastern/hip.
